MyAnimeVerse keeps as little about you as it can. This page lists everything.

Without an account

Your watch progress, history and likes stay in your own browser (localStorage). We do not receive them.

With an account

We store:

• your username and a salted password hash (never the password itself);
• an email address, only if you give one. It is not verified and not used yet;
• your watch progress, watch history and liked shows, so they follow you across devices;
• a session cookie (mav_sid) that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. The server keeps only a hash of it, plus your browser's user-agent string for that session.

What we do not do

• No analytics or advertising trackers, no third-party cookies.
• We do not write your IP address to our database. Our server keeps it in memory for up to an hour to rate-limit sign-up and login attempts.
• We do not sell or share your data.

Deleting your account

Open Account, choose "Delete account" and confirm with your password. Your account, progress, history, likes and sessions are deleted immediately and permanently. There is no password reset yet, because the optional email is not verified.

Third parties

The site runs behind Cloudflare, which handles every request. The video player script is loaded from cdnjs (Cloudflare), and some images may load from AniList's servers. Show information, images, scores and review excerpts come from AniList and MyAnimeList, and we link back to them. Videos and subtitles are hosted by third-party sites we do not control and are relayed through our server; we do not host any video files.
