Top 10 Anime Of Summer in 2021

There lots of anime come and go. In 2021, there are many anime that have been released and some that have ended. 2021 is a great year for anime, especially the summer. There are numerous anime that have been released during the summer of 2021. So here are the top 10 anime in Summer 2021. It will include all popular anime that have been released during the summertime of 2021. No anime before or after the summer 2021 will be counted.

Note: most of the anime are ongoing by the time I’m writing the post. The priority may change if the anime gets more popular or less popular. There are also other anime which have been released during Summer 2021.

10. How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom

“How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom” aka “Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha No Oukoku Saikenki” is an action and harem based anime. Because of its genre, the anime is getting quite popular. Unfortunately the anime is only available in Funimation and Mighty Media right now. The first episode of this anime came on 4th July, 2021.  The story follows Kazuya Souma, a high school student who accidentally got transported to a new world. The people of that place makes him a hero and asks his help to rebuild the kingdom that will have no problems. Kazuya Souma knows what people expect from him. That’s why willingly or unwillingly, he agrees to help them.

9. Girlfriend, Girlfriend

Girlfriend, Girlfriend is also a new anime. It’s mostly about romance and comedy. The anime came on 3rd July, 2021. This anime is available on Muse Asia YouTube channel (for asian countries) for free. The story shows Naoya Mukai harbors love for his childhood friend Saki for years. One day he decides to confess it. After that he finally gets the date. As soon as he tries to commit himself to the relationship, he receives an abrupt confession from Nagisa Minase. At first Naoya decides to reject her but can’t do it. It’s because he doesn’t want to make her unhappy. After that he finds a way to make both girls happy. Thus their three way affair begins. 

8. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S

The second season of “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S” also came out in Summer 2021. The exact date is 8th July, 2021. People who don’t know, “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S” is an anime based on comedy. It’s also part of the “Slice of Life” genre. The anime is available in crunchyroll roll. You can watch it for free of cost. The story starts after the ending of the first season which was released on 12th January, 2017. It has been four years since the first season. Fans were eagerly waiting for it. 

7. The Honor Student at Magic High School

“The Honor Student at Magic High School” is the sequel anime of “The Irregular at Magic High School”. The first episode of the anime also came on 3rd July just like Girlfriend, Girlfriend anime. The story takes place in a world with alternate history. In this world, not only magic exists but is also polished with science. However the ability to use magic depends on genetics, limiting the number of magicians in existence. The Third World happens. This war reduces the human population to 3 billion only. There are only four super powers left and Japan is one of them. In Japan, Ten Master Clans in lieu of the government runs the magic community.

The story follows Tatsuya Shiba, a bodyguard of his sister Miyuki Shiba who is the top candidate to become the leader of the Yotsuba clan which is one of the ten clans that govern Japan. Both Brother and sister enrolls in high school. Miyuki gets the first course because of her astonishing magic abilities. Whereas Tatsuya gets in second course. Tatsuya may not be good at magic but he is good at combat abilities and he has a good technical knowledge.

6. Hamefura (My Life as a Villainess) 2nd Season

Hamefura was a very popular anime. Ever since the first season ended. The fans were eagerly waiting for the next season. Hamefura aka My Life as a Villainess started airing on 3rd July, 2021. If you want to watch the anime, it’s available in Crunchyroll and Muse Asia.

It’s the sequel of the first season. The second season carries the adventures of Catarina Claes as a villainess.

5. The Aquatope on White Sand

The Aquatope on White Sand is another famous summer anime of 2021. The anime started airing on 9th July, 2021. It is also available on Muse Asia and Crunchyroll. You can check depending on your location. The story takes place in Nanjo, Okinawa in Japan. It starts with an 18 years old girl. Her name is Kukuru Misakino. She is chasing her dream by working at an aquarium. This story also features another character Fuuka Miyazawa, a former idol who happens to be working with Kukuru at the aquarium. She is quite the opposite of Kukuru. Miyazawa has given up on her dream whereas Kukuru is still pursuing her dream. It’s a pretty interesting story to watch

4. Sonny Boy

Sonny Boy is a science fiction anime. It has also gotten quite popular recently. The anime came on 16th July, 2021. This anime is available on Funimation. The story starts on a normal summer vacation in a school. It is normal until the school begins to drift into another dimension. During the incident, 36 boys and girls get some supernatural abilities.

3. The Detective Is Already Dead

The Detective Is Already Dead is one of the most famous anime which is released during summer 2021. The anime takes the pace right from the first episode. It is a mystery based anime with some detective kind of stuff. The first episode came on 4th July, 2021. You can watch the anime on Muse Asia youtube channel and it’s also available on Funimation.

The story gets an abrupt start. Kimihiko Kimizuka, a trouble magnet travelling in a plane. Later it is revealed that the plane has been hijacked. The hijacker asks for the legendary detective. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a pretty famous anime. The second season started airing on. It is an Isekai anime. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime started airing on July 6, 2021. The anime is mostly comedy anime. The second season carries on the adventures of the slime and it’s adventures. Other than this there is nothing new to say. 1. The Case Study of Vanitas

The Case Study of Vanitas indeed deserves this rank. You may think what could actually make it number. Just like The Detective Is Already Dead anime, The Case Study of Vanitas has also piqued people’s interest (maybe more than The Detective Is Already Dead). The anime started airing on 3rd July, 2021 (just like other anime on the list). The anime is available on Funimation and Aniplus Asia. You can watch wherever you want.

The story follows a vampire whose name is Vanitas. His people always hated him a lot. It’s because he was born under a full blue moon instead of a red moon. He was afraid and alone, he created “the book of Vanitas” a cursed grimoire. Whoever touches the book will take the Revenge of Vanitas on the vampires. This is the context of the story.
