Every Hokage Ranked From Weakest To Strongest

Hokage is the highest rank in Leaf village one shinobi can achieve. Hokage is also the most powerful person alongside with other 4 kage in the Naruto Ninja world. In Naruto history, there are a total of 7 Hokage out there. Today we will rank all Hokage from weakest to strongest. We will consider their chakra reserves, intelligence, and other enhancements.

Note: all power measurements will be taken from the Naruto anime series only. We won’t include manga stories here.

7. Kakashi Hatake

It’s not like Kakashi is a weak shinobi at all. When it comes to strength and chakra reserves, Kakashi ranks at 7 positions among other Hokage. After losing his Sharingan, he definitely lost one of his great weapons. Obviously, he was known as “Kakashi of The Sharingan” only because of his Sharingan. On the other hand, it benefitted him as well. As you all know, Sharingan consumes a large amount of chakra. Using it for long periods can cause paralysis. We already saw this happening against Zabuza. 

So despite these facts, Kakashi has strong intelligence which he uses to defeat many enemies and became worldwide popular. Even Itachi said that Kakashi had mastered his Sharingan on a level that many members of the Uchiha clan can’t reach. So you can see how capable Kakashi is. Even without his Sharingan, he can use all of the jutsus he copied from other people. Although his reflexes got a little bit dull due to the loss of Sharingan, He’s still a capable shinobi.

6. Tsunade Senju

Tsunade Senju is one of few members of the Senju clan we have encountered in the Naruto series and she is also of the “Legendary Sannins”. She became the 5th Hokage after the death of Hiruzen Sarutobi (3rd Hokage). Tsunade has healing jutsus which she can use to heal people. Other than this, she has monstrous strength and a hundred healing jutsus. She can heal herself instantly by using the hundred healing Jutsu. She is the only one (other than her student Sakura) who can use this Jutsu. Tsunade can even summon Lady Katsui, a giant slug that helps to heal other people by attaching with them. 

The reason she ranks higher than Kakashi is her chakra reserve and history. You all know Tsunade is a member of the Senju clan. As you all know, members of the Senju clan possessed greater amounts of chakra than any normal shinobi. Also, she survived two great ninja wars and still alive. So this should justify her rank at six.

5. Tobirama Senju

Tobirama Senju is the second Hokage of Leaf village. He was a genius and architect of Leaf village. Being a member of the Senju clan, Tobirama has a large reserve of chakra. He has plenty of jutsus. Tobirama even created many jutsus we saw in Naruto. He is the one who created Flying Ryjin Jutsu, shadow clone Jutsu, water dragon Jutsu, and the reanimation Jutsu. So you can judge his intelligence by looking at the jutsus he created.

Other than creating jutsus, Tobirama created some basic things which are needed in a village. So he created Ninja academy, Mission ranks, aanbu black ops, Uchiha police force, etc. So with his intelligence and chakra reserve, Tobirama ranks at number 4.

4. Minato Namikaze

Minato Namikaze is the fourth Hokage, creator of Rasengan and the father of the main protagonist. Minato Namikaze is arguably one of the strongest characters in the Naruto series. Not only that, Minato was able to seal nine tails inside Naruto with low availability of chakra. He was able to smash Obito Uchiha who was having the Mangekyo Sharingan in his arsenal and it was almost impossible to touch him. Minato is also feared by other nations. He is one of the fastest ninjas in the series. That’s why he got the title “Yellow Flash of The Leaf”.

Minato possesses sage art and a large chakra reserve. This makes him ridiculously stronger. He can also do flying Ryjin and Shadow clone Jutsu. Minato is better than Tobirama in these jutsus as Tobirama stated by himself during the fourth great ninja war.

3. Hiruzen Sarutobi

Hiruzen Sarutobi is the third hokage of Leaf village. He was in the second Hokage squad as well. At the beginning of the series, Hiruzen has been shown as an old hag. But don’t forget that he almost beat Orochimaru. Orochimaru himself confessed that he could have died if he encountered the Third Hokage 10 years ago.

The audience didn’t see Hiruzen’s power that much in the series. However, he was able to summon “Monkey King” and could perform Death Reaper Seal as well. Other than this, he was considered to be a God of Shinobi in his era as well. These reasons are enough to rank him at 3rd position among other Hokage.

2. Hashirama Senju

Hashirama Senju is the first Hokage and the founder of the hidden leaf village. He is considered to be the “God of Shinobi” in his era and has a massive chakra reserve. His chakra is compared to tailed beast chakras. If you compare his chakra with Kurama (the most powerful tailed beast), he has almost half amount of Kurama’s chakra. Hashirama has Sage Jutsu as well which enhances powers to the next level.

He has healing abilities as well. He can use wood-style ninjutsu that no one can use without using hashirama’s cells. Sadly the show didn’t explore this character that much. Most of the time his fights are with Madara Uchiha. He captured and sold all tailed beasts he captured, just because he is too strong.

1. Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki is the Seventh Hokage of Leaf village. He is the main protagonist as well. So it was expected that he is the strongest Hokage among all. As he has Sage Jutsu, all-tailed beast chakra, Jinchuriki of the nine-tailed beast, and has a large amount of chakra reserve thanks to all tailed beast and Kurama’s chakra.

If we talk about his track record, he defeated pain all by himself and other strong characters such as Obito, Kaguya, etc. So there is no way that he is the strongest Hokage of all time.
